Household Goods

Make a donation of food, household items, and toiletries.

Donations may be dropped off at the Agency Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. except on Wednesday the hours are 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Volunteer:
We have numerous volunteer opportunities for individuals or groups.  It is best to contact the agency to discuss your interests and availability; however, below are some of the on-going opportunities:

  • Food pantry:  organizing, stacking and filling of requests; *
  • Community Thrift Store: sorting, pricing and organizing; *
  • Seasonal:  Back-to-School and Christmas Store help to organize and assist clients (limited teen opportunities);
  • Pick-up:  Bulk food and large donations of furniture and other household items;
  • Clerical;  

While all volunteer opportunities are appropriate for adults, the positions preceded by an asterisk (*) are also appropriate for teen volunteers.

Funding Sources
While  Federal, County, Community Development Block Grants, F.E.M.A, Lee's Summit Fire Department Needy Family Fund, Mid America Assistance Coalition, and Greater Kansas City United Way grants are used to fund the efforts of Lee's Summit Social Services, we also rely on the generosity of area businesses, organizations and individuals for financial support and the donation of food and supplies.
