Our Mission is to assist low-income, elderly and/or disabled persons in Lee’s Summit Social Services’ service areas with emergency needs while enabling them to maintain their dignity and learning to set and meet realistic goals which will lead to greater independence.

Empowering Lives, Preserving Dignity:

Together Towards Independence.

Lee’s Summit Social Services was founded in March 1992 by Geneva High, along with the support of the Ministerial Alliance, to provide fundamental needs to low-income families and individuals in our community. As a non-profit agency, our journey began with a commitment to making a tangible difference in the lives of those in our community.

We have built a strong foundation of kindness and commitment for many years, working hard to support those facing difficult times while respecting their privacy. Our primary objective is to provide assistance during moments of hardship and enable people and families to regain control of their lives.

Through our donors’ generosity, our volunteers’ hard work, and our team’s unwavering determination, we have impacted countless lives positively. Our story is of resilience, community, and the unshakable belief that we can create a brighter, more equitable future together.

Today, as we reflect on our journey, we remain steadfast in our commitment to nurturing hope, fostering independence, and leaving no one behind. Each year, our story continues to evolve, driven by the enduring spirit of compassion that defines who we are.

Join us in shaping the next chapter of our story as we work tirelessly to build a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Together, we can make hope a reality for all.
